task 2
i had to fill in a class questionnaire about media usage, my results are on the questionnaire worksheet.
task 1
Primary research - is collecting data by talking to people about what they know.
Secondary research - is collecting data by reading what other people have written or published because they are experts in their chosen field.
task 8 18C
unfortunately, i haven't really gained any new technical skills although my skills with a camera to get a good shot have improved.
task 7 18C
2 tasks i have overcome are being able to steadily magnetic lasso around an image to make it smaller and get a certain segment from a large image. and i didn't really have any other difficulties in creating my product.
task 6 18C
i think that my product is suitable for my target audience, however with different images it could appeal to different athletes in different sports.
task 5 18C
The mac's, photoshop and my previous photoshop skills have helped my turn m design into a reasonably high quality real product, the camera i used to take the pictures with has allowed me to have clear in air photos which i have cropped and put into my advert.
task 4
my finished product does relate to my original block designs but i have used ideas from both to create my final product
task 3 analysis
i have realized that i should've tested more fonts and that i should have more variety of athletes on the poster.
task 1 18C
My advert
fits all the CAP codes used by the Advertising Standards Agency. It doesn’t contain
any rude or inappropriate images and it doesn’t outrageously lie to anyone for example
althoughit says ‘you can too’ it not directly telling anyone if they purchase
this product that they will be able to fly.
task 10
i did another questionnaire on my finished product and in this one i have presented my findings at the end.

task 8 18B
Airlock – airlock looks good and the curvy style gives a very
free feeling to the writing this will look good on the poster because the
viewer will feel that by having these shoes, they will be free.
Base 05 – is
good because it is big and noticeable also the ruggedness of it will give off a
limitless feeling.
Shift –
is good because it looks futuristic and advanced to the
viewer, which will make them think they are ahead of everyone else.
Academy
engraved LT – is okay but it might not be as
effective on the poster, it may just be seen through by onlookers.
BIRTH OF
A HERO - is
good because although it looks rugged and wild it also looks quite professional
at the same time. It is eye grabbing.
uFly
uFLY
uFLY
uFLY
uFLY
i think that base 05 looks the best and
I am going to use that.
task 7 18B
Brand
names
1. FeiyueU – this is suitable
because it is short and snappy. The capital ‘U’ gives the idea that the shoes
are personal and my product will also be joined with the existing company
called ‘feiyue’
2. Bounce – bounce would be
good because it is short and snappy but also briefly explains what the product
does.
3. Higher – higher gives the
impression that the wearer is higher, therefore better than their competition
which will make them want to have the shoe and be the best.
4. HowHi – this is okay but is
unusual because it contains 2 words pt together into one word but with 2
capital letters, which is unappealing.
5. Springers – springers is
good because it instantly gives off the feeling that you bounce, jump, spring
high and is short and snappy, the downside is that it sounds a bit childish.
I
have decided to go with ‘FeiyueU’ because I think it sounds the best and is
very relevant to my product.
Product
names
1. uFLY – it is short snappy
and people will want to buy it because it sounds trendy as well as efficient.
2. Air time – it gives the
athlete the picture that they will be higher in the air and have… more air time
3. UP – it tells the athlete
they will keep going up and up during their activity, it is also snappy.
4. Don’t stop – it is long but
gives motivation the the wearer.
5. Higher – gives the
impression that the wearer will have the highest jumps.
I
have decided to go with ‘uFLY’ because I think it sounds trendy and is similar
to apple’s ‘i’ rang of products but with a ‘u’ which gives the wearer he is top
of the market.
task 5 18B
This is Stephen, he is 19 years old and does gymnastics and
free running. As you can see he is in need of a new pair of training shoes… our
product can help him.
He matches our target market: sporty, wanting to improve and
better himself.
He would buy our product because it is new to the market and
something very new.
task 2 18B
This
shoe is the most advanced sport specific shoe ever made. It will give the
wearer such an advantage over everyone else that everyone will want them which
is where we will make our main profit source. The shoe will already be provided
by Feiyue so all we need to do is print our logo on the side. The screenings
for the logo will be cheap as It is one colour. Our advertising budget will be
2 million with which we create a television advert to be played on television
during the evenings, we should be able to afford the advert slot during the
breaks on programmes such as emmerdale and holyoaks. With the money we have, we
will hire a professional televison advertising company to film our advert.
Technically
we are okay because the company we will hire to make the advert will have top
of the range equipment and skills available.
The
USP (Unique Selling Point) is that there is currently nothing as advanced as
the shoe we have made. We willing having the selling line “Most Flip, We Fly”
task 1 18B
I
am going to create a shoe that extra bounce In, it will be made specifically
for gymnasts, free runners, martial artists and similar sports de to the fact
it will give them higher flips and more speed. I will start a new company to
sell these shoes, this company will be called ‘uFLY’.
My
product; the shoe will be available in all sizes, and various colours. The
extra bounce given in the shoe will be similar to nike’s ‘air’ range but be
more advanced and sport specific. It will give the user high flips and the
ability to run faster due to the spring they will receive from the shoe’s
contact with the floor.
The
new company uFLY has taken the naming idea from apple’s ‘I’ collection but been
replaced with a ‘u’ with gives the customer a more customized feeling. and
taken the word fly because it gives the customer the feeling they can fly.
The
company has teamed up with the already existing company ‘Feiyue’ to create the
new product ‘the product will have the design of a feiyue shoe including shae
and signature double arrow on but will have uFlY’s logo on the side instead of
feiyue’s.
The Advertising Standards Agency
The
role of the advertising standards agency is to give out a set of
rules/guidelines/laws of which an advert has to be based on. For example a few
rules are that you cannot encourage stupid behaviour, be to offensive and
cannot include abuse or discriminaton.
